Citizens for a Digital Future believes that all Americans should have access to the life-changing technology that is broadband Internet.
However, many communities, particularly those in rural and low-income areas, are severely underserved. Lack of access to high-speed broadband means lack access to professional and educational opportunities and the latest in health care technologies. Businesses located in areas without wireless broadband access cannot fully compete in our digital age, nor can they enjoy the benefits and expansion this technology encourages.

We believe that the Obama Administration should support initiatives and business ventures that will help achieve the President’s goal of getting 98% of Americans connected to the Internet. The AT&T/T-Mobile merger is one way to help make this a reality. Combining the resources of these two companies would commit billions of dollars for in private investment, to expand and enhance network infrastructure across the country.
