A recent report from McKinsey Global Institute announced that the internet industry is responsible for nearly a quarter of economic growth in industrialized nations. The report also states that profits internet services, devices and tools has far surpassed that of previous economic staples, including natural resources like oil and gas.
Furthermore, a recent TechNet survey estimated that over 460,000 “app economy” jobs had been added to the U.S. economy since 2007. As more consumers purchase app enabled devices, the market for digital goods and services is sure to expand. From these reports and others it is clear that the tech industry has the potential to create many more jobs and opportunities for all Americans as innovation continues to increase accessibility which in turn drives demand for technologies that will create even greater job growth in the future.
